COMBINATION SKIN TIPS: HOW TO MANAGE AN OILY AND ACNE-PRONE T-ZONE

How to take care of an oily T-zone? Well, before discussing this, let’s learn a little about our skin type. Generally, we are familiar with four types of skin: Dry, Oily, Normal, and Combination. Combination skin has both dry and oily areas, and the oily T-zone is usually more common in combination skin. The part of the forehead, nose, and chin with combination skin is called the oily T-zone because these areas are oily. On the other hand, the cheek is dry. And if you look at this whole part, it will look like the English letter ‘T’. Naturally, you will want to know why this combination skin occurs! In most cases, combination skin is genetically inherited, and in some cases, it happens due to negligence in choosing skin products for our daily use.

Suppose you are using a product in your skincare that contains ingredients that cause inflammation. Using this product, the ingredients in the product will contribute to excess oil production in your T-zone and at the same time dry out the skin in other areas of the face. So if you wear makeup or in normal times, it can be seen that the forehead, nose and chin are oily and you look dark. There are some household items that, with regular use, will keep oil spills in this area within your reach. But luckily, if you have normal skin and your T-zone is not oily, then the skin does not need any special care. Only use a good toner.

Now let’s take a look at some of the ways to take care of an oily T-zone.

1. Double Cleansing:

For those with oily or combination skin, double cleansing is a must. Use micellar water as the first step. It removes the makeup stuck on the face and also removes dust, oil, and other pollutants. As a result, it is convenient for the cleanser to work in the second step, and the dirt accumulated deep in the skin is also easily removed. Also, due to double cleansing, excess sebum production of the skin is also controlled.

2. Use an Oil-Free Moisturizer:

If you have oily or combination skin, don’t stop applying moisturizer altogether. Instead, apply something that will help keep your T-zone from getting oily.

3. Try Multi-Masking:

A face mask can absorb the excess oil and sebum of the face the best. But if you have combination skin, rely on multi-masking. You might be thinking, what is this again? Apply the clay mask on the T-zone of the face and the sheet mask on the other areas of the face or relatively dry areas. So that the T-zone, as well as the rest of the skin of the face, also get enough nutrition.

4. Use Primer:

Regular cleansing, moisturizing, and masking can take care of an oily T-zone, but to keep excess oil under control, a primer should be applied while applying makeup! The primer ensures that the face’s natural oils don’t break down, the makeup while also filling the pores of the face for a smoother complexion.

Home Remedies for Oily T-Zone:

1. Multani clay is known to all of us and is also easily available. Multani clay absorbs excess oil from the surface of the skin, so all those with oily skin are advised to apply Multani clay packs. If your skin’s T-zone is oily, mix Multani clay with water, make a pack, and apply it only to the oily part. Do this practice regularly every day.

2. A few drops of lemon juice mixed with sour yogurt prove to be a very beneficial cleanser. You can use this natural cleanser to take care of your oily T-zone.

Due to the release of excess oil, the pores of the skin on our forehead, nose, and chin become blocked. As a result, there is a possibility of acne in that area. If the amount of oil can be reduced by regularly cleaning these areas, acne will not spoil the beauty of our skin very easily.

3. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey with 2 teaspoons of tomato juice. Then massage this mixture on the T-zone and keep it for 15 minutes. Then wash with warm water. Tomato’s natural acid balances the skin’s pH and frees us from excess oil secretion. So by using this mixture, we will get rid of acne problems indirectly.

4. Mix one tablespoon of aloe vera gel with 1 teaspoon of cucumber juice and apply the mixture to the entire face or just your T-zone with a cotton pad for 20 minutes. Apply this daily routine to the face.
